A close friend said to me that I should treat wearing nappies during the day like an insurance policy. You don't always need it but you're sure glad you've got it when you do.
I've resigned myself to wearing pull-ups daily as insurance against F-IC (diarrhea). I've been able to control that mostly with whole psyllium husk taken after breakfast each day. In the evening, I can also suddenly U-IC urge when I am tired, if I don't visit the toilet often enough. So I celebrate the days that I don't need them but don't fuss if I do. That's the nature of insurance.
My IC is blamed upon nerve damage due to diabetes glucose control issues over many years.
