I am a 36 inch pant size and have been wearing mediums for a while. But I have often read individuals with even 34 pant size saying that they barely fit in mediums and wear large.

What is the appropriate fit? When I have tried larges with other diapers I always find I cannot get a snug fit in the legs and have gaps in the back that always leak due to the length of the diaper. Any advice on your experience would be appreciated!

I have a much larger waist than you and wear a Large. As you are not between the sizes, it is likely that you would wear a Medium. To be sure, just buy one package before placing a larger order.

As you have noted, a good fit is the most important factor in any diaper. The most expensive diaper will not work well if it does not fit your shape.

BetterDry is my daily diaper and I have used many cases of it.

I guess I am a constant learner. I have a muffin top gut. 35 pounds to go before it’s gone…(daily runner). I always tape my diaper below the muffin top, but I am wondering if the more appropriate spot is on or right below the bellybutton. Are the tapes supposed to more to the front of the diaper as opposed to the sides? For me, the bottom tapes are just barely covering the padded area of the front, but the top tapes are about 1.5 to 2 inches into the padded area.

Thanks for the response and advice!

I have the same problem with most disposables now. I think they intend that you measure your hips and use that instead. Confusing given that most people know their waist size for buying trousers but the hips are wider and they're what need the room. I use a large in almost all brands now.

I have been using the Betterdry for a while now. I am a size 38 waist and the Large fit me quite well. The top tapes fit over the padding with about 3" space between them. The bottom tapes barely reach to the padding. I have had only one leak over a period of a month. The Betterdry seems to be great for guys as it has a lot of adding in front. I get more capacity out of these than anything else I have tried. It sounds like you should try the medium size first.
