Well, ever since i became moderately to heavily incontinent, ive had spare diaeprs with me in the unlikely event i need a change when out and about. Tonight was no exception... I was with my friend at the casino singing karaoke, and of course, knocked a few back at the bar.. i consider myself a very light drinker.. and wont drink more than 2 drinks in a 24 period. Anyway.. i did use the bathroom a LOT while i was there.. and, despite my best efforts to use the bathroom.. i had to change.. it was about the second or third trip to the bathroom..just after i had a jim beam and coke... i got so far as closing the stall door when the floodgates opened.. I didnt leak.. but was in need of a change.. i pretty much practice dry diaper wear..

Anyway, to make a long story short...i asked my friend for the keys to his van (he knows about my issues and is supportive) and got my backpack, headed to a bathroom which i thought would be low-traffic.. did my thing.. and there wasnt much of an audince to worry about..other than a housekeeiping lady knocking on the door.. and an employee in the bathoom.. But ,all in all, no sweat.. :D One good thing was that my new diapers have the velcro like fasteners, which are much quieter to open and stick... yet another advantage to these diapers.. ye ha

As time goes on, ill probably have to do this more and more often.. ive taken a giant step today in acceptance.. i could have asked my friend if we can go home..so i can change there.. but no.. i braved the crowd.. and feel real good about it..

:D :D

Well... while I'm not glad that you had to change... I am glad that you did it.

Changing in public can be stressful... especially those first few times... but honestly, practice makes perfect. The more often you do it... the better at it you get and the less it bothers you.

This is the toughest issue for me. I hate carrying around a backpack full of diapers and spare plastic pants, and I hate changing in a public restroom. I've been dealing with this for years, and I am much more comfortable with it than I used to be. Fortunately my diapers are very absorbent so this isn't a frequent occurrence.
