As I've lived with this for decades I've tried practically every technique that's available. I grew up in the pre-disposable era so as a youth and young adult used cloth diapers/training pants and rubber/plastic pants. As the disposable products became available I tried them all. Currently I use the Abena X-Plus with a Depend Boost Liner. I also wear ADC plastic pants over the diaper for a little extra protection and some concealment. I do use meds on occasion, but due to the side effects only rarely.

I have a very understanding and supportive wife. Even living with this as long as I have, I still need the emotional support and acceptance to help me deal with this. I've heard some horror stories about unsupportive "significant others" and I'm grateful for what I have.

I was raised in cloth diapers and plastic pants too, but my incontinence didn't start untill well into the disposable age.
You are so right about having an understanding spouse. It's bad enough having to cope with incontinence, but having a non-understanding spouse makes it a lot tougher.
My wife was a little hesitant for me to switch to cloth diapers and plastic pants at night, but she understood my preference for leak control and comfort. We are so lucky to have them! .................Paul Martin

Having a wife or a husband that understands and supportive is a really good thing. I am glad to hear these reports of supportive spouses. These reports give me hope that someday my wife could be more supportive.

She is somewhat supportive but has a hard time accepting the fact that I have to wear all the time. She had gotten so use to me being able to hold back for real long times that it's hard for her to fully understand what is going on with me, especially since the urologist can't pin point the cause. During those times, I could hold out, she never really noticed that I wouldn't drink anything throughout the day either. Now that I have to keep my fluid intake high, just makes things worse for me.

So for additional support, I come here and learn from all of you.

Hi K T and all my wife is also very supportive but she dosen't understand with bph the urge incontinence.I still use disposablies someday would like to try cloth but the washing is another thing.
