Well that was easy!
Telling my friend about my incontinence turned out to be a breeze. On the long drive up to the event location we got into a discussion about healthcare and it just kind of morphed into a discussion about what coverage and doctors we had. I mentioned that I was starting to have more problems with my prostate (which he already knew about) and that I was having significant leakage issues. He then said in a fun sort of way that if I didn't watch out I'd be in "Depends" before I knew it. Well there was my opening and I said in a matter of fact sort of way that I already was in Depends, and in fact had one on. He didn't even blink and said that he already knew that I had to wear pads as he had seen some in my car glove compartment on a previous drive. At that point he went into some of his own medical problems and we kind of laughed about it all and agreed that it just comes with getting older. What a relief, and now that he knows about my situation it's sure going to make sharing the hotel room a whole lot easier.
