Hey all,

Just thought id do a little update/faq/commentary on life from little ol me. I've been traveling by train from OK to TX to switch sibling stays, and i must say it is more comfortablee that air travel in termss of being able stretch out. The funny thing is, it would seem with Amtrak, some of the trains have roomier bathrroms than other trains. The first train from Moore OK to Fort Worth TX had spacious bathrooms. I didn't end up changing in one but it would have been no problem. For the train from Fort wotht to Austin, things were a bit cramped/. I actually ended up putting on a fresh diaper sitting down in the female lounge that was by the bathrooms. Yes, i know not ideal because anyone could have walked in, but i figured i could chacne it for a few minutes, as the train seemed not all the way full. Never got walked in on. So, there u have it. train potties are more or less as cramped as airplane potties..

In other news, i have a butt rash from sweaty disposables that is annoying and hard to get rid of. Any ideas on heat rash? I switched from disposabless to pocket diaers as soon as i got to my sister's house. Got some Rash cream my sis in law gae me on OK, plus the stuff J&B sends.

Lastly, I've come across a new pocket diaper supplier. They offer velcro as well as snap on diapers, and they even gave me a free wet bag with my order! Surefire way to bulid customer loyalty. Anyway, if anyone is interested you can find them here: https://happyendingsecodiapers.com/ just scroll down and click on teen/adult cloth diapers. Anyone use velcro diapers? Any issues? My biggest concerns w velcro was that it would scratch my skin and the laundry tabs would stick to eveyt hing. Well, im pleased to report that scratching is minimal, and the diapres velcroing together isnt as big as a deal a others have made it out to be. Ok im going back to bed, its 10 to midnight here.

Peace out!

Rob

You need to get in some "air time". After you shower, give yourself some time lying on a bed naked. Make sure there is a fan blowing at you too. Use a diaper or pad to catch any random leaks, but don't cover up or put a diaper on until your skin has dried out.

Once your skin had dried out, use a diaper -cream- (not ointment). Make sure it gets rubbed in thuroughly to help your skin heal. Now use a diaper -ointment- and spread it on enough to create a barrier so your skin won't get any worse.

I fly about 37 weeks each year, and occasionally I get the chance to use Amtrak. It's a nice break from TSA, and I love it for that reason. As you have encountered, the experience is mixed if you are at all handicapped. It sounds like you have managed to make the best of it. Improvisation is the key to happy travel.
