HI all, Finally after waiting weeks, I get the correct order for external collection system, the men's liberty. I told myself, well the easiest test to see if it will work is to see if you leak when you are pointed upright. This is where the condom catheter failed miserably. Im pleased to report i was pointed up and had a decent size void.. and the mens liiberty took it like a champ.. no leaks.. all the urine went straight into the pouch, which then drained into the leg bag. This very well could mean i could ditch the diapers.. but we shall see. So far my complaints are the leg bag keeps slipping, and the pouch attatched to the mends liberty is rubbing against my skin and its kind of irritating. Other than that, no complaints. Application went smoothly, and it feels comfortable on. It feels like im wearing nothing at all. I actually wore underwear outside the house the first time in a long time.. and it felt weird..but sort of freeing at the same time. I'm not quite ready to donate all my diapers quite yet though.. there may be circumstances where wearing hte liberty woudlnt be practical.. like swimming.. that would take some creative thinking on how to do that.. anyway, i thought id give you an update! Peace out ! Rob |

I was glad to read that you found an external catheter system that works for you. |

That's good news. Is catheterisation going OK with it on too? |

Yes, it does. The only issue i have is the leg bag keeps slipping.. any ideas on how to stop that? Peace out! Rob |

Assume the leg bags are the same as the ones for indwelling catheters I'd consider trying a few different styles of straps. You can get different types of straps and you can also get something that looks like a sock that you pull up and it keeps the bag in places. |

On the Men's liberty website, they explicitly state NOT to go back and forth between diapers and wearing liberty because of the moisture that gets on the skin leads to decreased wear time. Sorry, but that doesn't work for me. In order to get the capacity I need to wear a leg bag in additon to the pouch, which precludeds wearing shorts, and I don't want to excersise wearing pants.. id get overheated possibly. So, diapers are a necessity for at least excersising for now until i figure something else out. I plan to wear the mens liberty today to work, sincce its more or less proven itsef as being a leakproof alternative to diapers. If i can just fix the leg bag issue and the pouch rubbing against my skin.. ill be all set ![]() Peace out! Rob |

I use a leg sleeve to hold my leg bag in place. There are several kind but I use the style from a company in St. Louis Missouri. It holds the bag in place on you leg and it doesn't rub. When I swim I have one that is the same color as my trunks. That way it looks like I have a hamstring issue. |

Same here, but my doc calls them leg sock pouch. They have a sort of stretchy, almost mesh like construction. It has an inner and outer layer which forms a pocket for the leg bag. It's tight enough to keep the bag in place, but not so tight it wont let the bag fill up or otherwise be uncomfortable. |
