Hey all, Good news..my mens liberty supply is on its way to me on friday, so i will be able to do an extedned trial. They are also including 2 leg bags, so i will have the capacity i i need. I will be sure to report my results to all who may be interested in trying this for themselves. Also, does anyone here know how to use a Peco free and clear hydrophilic catheter? They have picture instructions on the catheter itself, but i just want to make sure im getting it right. It looks like im supposed to add water, then press down, wait 20 seconds and then use it? anyone have an idea? I will look on the Peco website to see if they have any info.. if not ill check back here to see if anyone here knows anything. Peace out! Rob |

Well I don't know about that brand, but with hydrophilic catheters in general it is a always recommended to soak them for a few seconds before using them. The ones I have you only need to open one end of the package a little bit, and add (ideally sterile) water till it fills up. Wait a few seconds, then remove the catheter and use it. No extra lube required (though I always do anyways). |

My hydrophilic catheters come in a sealed sleeve with a small foil container inside that contains about an ounce of sterile water. All I have to do is mash the foil wrapper to release the water inside the sleeve. I then tip the sleeve back and forth for 15 seconds or so to insure that the water has covered the coating of the catheter. The system works very effectively. --John |

JD, Unfortunately, I don't have the easy burst water packet in mine.. i have to add the water.. its a hassle, and i went aheand and told J and B medical to switch me to the plain old Coloplast catheters that ive been using all along.. and im trying to get my hands on samples of the hydrophilic catheter that Coloplast makes that Tricare does cover. I find out after the fact from a friend on another incon forum that PECO sucks in his opinon. Live an learn i guess. Peace out!! Rob |
