Wondering if you guys can point me toward something that might work better for me. If you've been following my story, I'm a heavy bedwetter with minor daytime leaks.

I wear Abena L4 to bed but they're kind of big on me. I've lost a little weight over the last month and am really between sizes. The mediums are just too small but I'm kind of swimming in the large. It's starting to cause a small bit of leakage.

I have a free sample of Northshore Supremes on the way in large which are supposedly sized smaller. Anything else I should try? I'm tempted to just order samples from XP of everything from Dry 24/7, Seni Quattro, Absorbency Plus etc in both med and large to see what works but I feel like I'll end up wasting a good deal of money doing that. I need something quite robust as I wet very heavily at night. Since it's just a night time diaper, bulkiness and discretion don't matter at all really.

Mike,

That is tough about being between the sizes as a good fit is so critical. :(

I presume you are wearing plastic pants on top of your diaper?

We all have our own opinions re diapers, but I recommend the ConfiDry 24/7 with a medium North Shore Care booster pad added for nighttime. That is what I use when I do not use cloth.

The Seni Quatro is an excellent diaper. Try it for size and use it also with a booster pad.

About a year ago I converted over to cloth for use at night. Since that time I have experienced only a single leak and that was my fault for not completely covering the back of the waist with the plastic pants. I now use the Dry 24/7s at night when I travel (they also are my main diaper). Try the Dry 24/7s and the Seni but think about cloth for the future if you continue to leak. If you fasten a cloth diaper with pins you guarantee a good fit. :D

I haven't been using plastic pants. I've only been wearing diapers to bed for about a month now. The L4s were working fine but I've been trying very hard to lose weight and just recently I'm getting a bit of a gap around the legs that I suspect is where the leak is. I think if I continue to drop weight I could be in M4's in a couple months comfortably. Maybe just adding plastic pants in the meantime will work.

I'm adamantly against cloth, for myself, just bc I don't want to deal with the upfront investment and I don't want to do anymore laundry related to this. The daily bedding laundry and towel laundry is a huge part of why I finally gave in and started wearing diapers. Maybe my opinion on that will change over time but I currently just very much prefer the convenience of being able to just throw it away.

eh screw it...I just ordered samples from XP of Seni Quattro and dry 24/7 and their own absorbency plus brand. No standing leak guards on the latter make me skeptical but we'll see. between these and the sample of northshore supremes hopefully I'll find an adequate diaper. Ordered some boosters too.

MikeJames, I understand your aversion to spending time and money on this. But I think you are wise to take an empirical approach. There are many different products out there because different things work for different people. I am sure you will eventually find something that works well for you.

Hi MikeJames

I wear Molicare Premium Soft Super Plus with a booster in, compression pants and a waterproof cover (Spartan) at night. The compression pants are great for those between sizes as gives a snug fit and keeps everything securely in place. I had many a wet bed and disturbed night until I settled on this combination now just go to bed on a lovely new mattress and sleep all night safe in the knowledge that however much I toss and turn I am protected till morning. I wake up so much more refreshed and happy now.

Mike James,
All the diaper that have been recommended are good diaper. I think that because you are between sizes that were your troubles is. Before going to the Foley I used booster or doubling up diapers at night. But the key I think, is the plastic pants over the top for any over flow or miss placed tapes. Also use extra tape on your diaper to get a better fit. Until you get it figured out you may want to use bed pads for awhile.

I'm somewhat in between sizes too, but found with the right fit it is better to go with the larger size (assuming they do fit at least). The larger diapers will have more padding, and will also have higher waist bands and more overlap on the sides. The more they are extended, the lesser your chance of getting leaks.

There are plenty of brands out there that leave a gap at the front or back of my legs. They will always leak on me even before reaching half capacity. If you get this with one brand, try a different one. I personally like northsore supreme, and confidry24/7. I also use a baby diaper booster for overnight (they are cheaper and more effective than adult booster pads). But what works for me might not work for you. Just do what you're doing, and try them all out.

Hi Mike

I had the same issue with the Abena line, the mediums were just a but to small and the large worked but was larger then I needed.

When I tried the Dry 24/7 as recommended on this site the medium fit perfectly as it is cut bigger then the Abena line.

get some samples I think you will find they fit better then the abenas. every one is different so what works for one may not work for another.

Finding the right diaper is a challenge but once you find what works best for you dealing with incontinence starts to get easier.

Thanks. I did order a slew of Samples from XP. They'll be here today.

I got 3each of Medium and Large Abena L4 soft shells figuring they might fit differently than the plastic backed I'd been using. 3 each of size Regular and large Seni Quatro, 3 medium Dry 24/4, and 3 each of M/L of XP's own brand. Also ordered a free sample of 2 of Northshore Supremes. Only got large in those.

I think I should be able to find a solution in this mix!

So my samples came yesterday except for the Northshores which should come today.

I have to say, Seni Quatro diapers are awesome! I was very skeptical about cloth backed because I didn't think cloth that soft and real feeling could hold moisture but they sure did. The large fit me perfectly and I woke up this morning in a very heavy, wet diaper and bone dry bed!. They are very soft inside and out and are very comfortable. I have 2 more so if the next two prove as effective then a case is going in the rotation. I still want to give the northshores and dry 247's a try though. Really hoping those prove effective as well because I'd like to have a good cloth backed and good plastic diaper to alternate between. I have to say though the cloth backed Seni slept a lot cooler than the plastic Abenas and held just as much if not more. Still felt like wearing a very bulky diaper, but the soft cloth style backing was remarkably comfortable.

I'll probably still add a booster to them either way just to be really secure but I can't recommend these diapers enough. If you haven't tried them, I'd seriously consider it.
