Hey all,

Well, since my incontinence has flared up again, I decided it was time to buy some more protection. Since I had some success with the cloth diapers, i decided to order 3 more pocket diapers. Granted, the seams pop and they take a long time, but the fact is for the most part they work and are reusable. So, since right now I am not working, it pays to use reusable ones. Downside is that i ended up spending 150 for 3 of them, when i could have gotten a case of disposables for the same price. But i am saving money by alternating between cloth and disposable. By alternating, I cut down on the amount of cloth being used, so they last longer, and I reduce the amount of disposables being used, making them last longer. Something funny for you all.. Here i was putting away my cloth diapers or taking stock of them.. and im like wait a minute, where did the final frontier one go.. it took me a minute to remember that i had it on at that moment. LOL. I suppose that's one downside of alternating, you might forget which you are wearing and think your missing some..

I do have some pin on cloth and plastic pants, and they are used, but i dont think id wear them as long as i would a pocket diaper, since they tend to feel wetter sooner.
Heres a joke thats somewhat incontinence related..

What did one eye say to the other eye?

Don't look now, but something between us smells.

Peace out!

Rob

Rob, thanks for the laugh. It's funny how puns work: The worse they are, the better they are!

Does this mean the cloth diapers sit longer before washing? How does that factor in, since you'd have less cloth to wash? Smaller loads or do you let them set in the diaper pail longer?

No Porkchop, they don't. What i mean is, when i change, i put on a disposable. When i change that diaper, i go to cloth. Then disposable, then cloth again, at least thats some of the time. Right now 3 of my pocket cloth diapers are sitting on my moms sewing machine table waiting to be repaired. They get washed every 3 days or so.. 3 days is the max I go without washing them. I am trying to not wash them too much, because then they wear out quicker. I am wearing a pocket diaper right now, just because I got tired of putting up with Attends being so cheap with the tabs, and I don't want to use up all my premium disposables around the house. I do have other cloth besides the pocket.. i have 1 twill prefold, 1 gauze prefold, 1 contour diaper with a doubler, and i have 2 pairs of plastic pants. After I change out of this pocket diaper, I will put on a disposable, probably the ID slip.

Hope this explains a few things.. also, when i wash my diapers, i also rinse out the pail in my bathtub so it doesnt stink..

Peace out!

Rob, why did the pocket diapers need to be repaired? Issues with the company you bought them from? Seems like you loved the manufacturer and I was considering ordering from them. Has that changed?

I have had minor and i mean MINOR issues with seam popping when I put on the diaper.. but please don't let this deter you from ordering from them, because I have poor fine motor control and your mileage may vary when it comes to application technique. But, for now Porkchop, I'm afraid that they are unavailable for order. The maker of them is working fulltime and has reduced the number of orders she is taking. They have disabled the shopping cart on the website, and only her etsy site is functioning at the moment. I would post a link to it, except it wouldnt do you any good.. she also took her diapers down TEMPORARILY from the etsy shop so she could catch up on orders. I hope this answers your question.

The reason i call the seam issues minor is that because they don't make the diaper non waterproof or unwearable, just needs repair now and then. Use caution and care and dont yank on the tabs to put the diaper on and youll be fine. Oh, and dont pull the diaper down to use the toilet..unsnap one side..

Peace out!
