Post subject:  What do you do when you're between sizes?

Hey guys I'm new to the forum so l hope I am posting this in the correct location. I am looking at using pull-ups for light to moderate bladder leakage during the day. Working with my medical supply company it looks like I could fit either a small or medium. The small is snug getting them around the hips, but fit well on the waist. The medium goes on well but I noticed it doesn't fit as snug to the body. I'm sitting 99% of the time, use a wheelchair, so I don't know how important the lack of a snug fit is. Any input would be great.

I would guess to say the snugger, the better to avoid any gaps and leaks, especially while sitting. Just make sure they are not so tight they cut into skin, or are just too uncomfortable! Another option, try another brand, they are all sized a bit different, and some just work better then others. Puffy

Thanks for the advice I was thinking the same thing, but this was the first time I was finding myself on the edge of the size chart so that's why I was seeking the input of others.

I was having the same thing with large to medium, I found using the large they would leak by the leg cuffs but with a snugger medium they do not leak very often at all and are a lot more comfortable to wear as they don't sag as much (granted im standing)

Hi WheelsOnDown

Firstly welcome to the community.

Secondly larger sizes tend to offer more absorbency, if you are between sizes go for the larger of the two you can always add compression/stretch briefs on top to achieve a secure snug fit this also helps with modisty and leak issues too.

WheelsOnDown,
I like to go to with the snugger fit myself, If there just a little to large, boosters can sometimes make up the size different to get the fit you are looking for. Like Greenbank said, compression short and a one piece shirt shorts combo, to politically correct will help. To me fit is everything so I don't have a leak issue

Welcome aboard!! Here's my view on this whole thing. I think you should consider a tape style diaper. A pullup only works for really light (the lightest of the light) bladder leakage. If you are wheelchair bound and have some mobility issues it would be far better to be over protected even if you have "light to moderate" leakage. I prefer to be overprotected, though there are times when I need to wear a pullup (like under a uniform) I started using Abriflex pullups from Abena, they're awesome as far as pullups go.

I have the ability to use the bathroom and use the pull-ups as a just in case option. I am familiar with the Abena brand, but unfortunately my insurance nor pocket book cover the cost of them. I do use a tape on style for night time because they are less likely to leak and they offer more absorbency.
