I am one of those who only has daytime issues, never at night. For that reason, I haven't worn a diaper at night for several years. Lately I have been waking up suddenly in the middle of the night, feeling like I just peed myself in the bed. A quick check and I'm dry, but still its unsettling. Has this ever happened to any of you? What was the eventual outcome of that? |

I get this multiple times each night- and it's very annoying. See, I've had 5 sphincterotomy surgeries due to a neurogenic blockage. Even now though I still wake up with an urge to pee- several times each night. Except even with still needing to go, thanks to my surgeries I am already leaking a little bit. That's when I just force the flood gates open by pushing/straining a little, then do my best to go back to sleep. |

Oddly this started happening to me about 3 months ago, I never really had to wear anything at night but since about January I would wake up at 11-1 ish (I go to bed early) and feel like I'm either wet or with a urge to go like no other, physically agonising like someone is stabbing you in the bladder and kidney repeatedly, I'm trying to get to the bottom of it. I have changed what and when i drink fluids and make sure I use the loo immediately before i go too sleep but to no avail. I started to wake up wet about 2 months after. Not always mind. Nothing seems to be straight forward!! |

Has this ever happened to any of you? What was the eventual outcome of that? Golly ... I don't like to be the bearer of bad news, but that's how things "started" with me. After a really nasty UTI, I started to wake in the middle of the night feeling/dreaming of peeing while asleep. The first few nights/weeks were just a couple of "spots"; but then the dribbles started. Then one night, "it happened". Things never improved (until recently, see http://www.incontinentsupport.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2253). In retrospect, I should have tried other options early on rather than wait till things got worse to seek help (due to embarrassment, cost, etc.). Other options would've included early urologist consult, chiropractic, and acupuncture/acupressure. As you can probably surmise from reading various posts on this forum, there are many options as well as outcomes. Each one of us has to find what is best for his/her circumstance given his/her level of comfort, acceptance, and desired outcome. ILuvLA. |

This happened to me too at first I put it down to a nightmare and sadly the nightmare became true one night and it scared me so much that I now wear waterproof pants, diapers and a booster at night. On the whole I wake up dry but I have piece of mind now and can rest easy at night and have a solid full nights sleep. Greenbank |

Wetdad, Just a thought, go ahead and wear protection at night to put your mind at ease. That way if you do have a accident there isn't a mess to clean up. That may help you get a good nights sleep. |
