Hey all,

Just htought id give an update. As much as I really want to report nothing negative on the pocket diaper, I thought it would be in the best interest of objectivity to share this. Up until now, the pocket diapers have had a stellar track record when tested. Standing up, they have not leaked at all as far as I can tell. Tonight, that streak ended. I was wearing my gray camo pocket diaper with platstic PUL pants, and i had a leak. There was a wets spot on the back of my jeans. But, there WERE a few mitigating factors. First, the pocket diaper fit was somewhat looser than oteher times, I still felt I had a good seal at the legs. Second, I was wearing 3 inserrts when usually i wear 4. Third- The isert was shifted sligtly to the left of center. I think that I happeend to be pointed on the edge of the pad, and thus i sustained a leak. I will suggest to the maker that they shuold make the insert wider in the middle. I must emphasize that usually the diapers have NOT leaked on me to the point of getting my pants wet. Also, i think i might have flooded the pocket diaper.

I still have to some extent the seam popping issue But, again, that is minor..

Overall, I am still pleased, because most of the time i have worn them, and every time in public, they have kept me dry. That really is all that matters. As far as the leaks, heck, ANY diaper no matter how well designed can leak in the right situation even if it usually works. Case in point: For me, 75% of the time ConfiDry works beautitiully for me, absorbing amounts that would leave other diapers saturated. But sometimes the legs dont seal properly, and i have leaked. It is also important to note that while ConfiDry has a high overall capacity, its acquisiton rate is slower than Abena, Molicare, or A+.

I will admit to being on the fence about buying more pocket diapers. It's not that i would never ever buy any more. It mainly has to do with the cost of buying them and the wait time in getting an order. I am considering purrchasing some product off of ACD. Has anyone tried the Leakmaster AIO? Yes, I realize it's velcro.

Also, one problem that i seem to come across that while it's not impossible to put a pocket diaper on standing up, its a lot more complicated to get the right fit than a disposable, and sometimes i might pop a seam while triying to adjust. That is why I am asking about the AIO.. maybe I could alternate betweent the pocket and ad the AIO on a workday, and have an easier time puttng on the AIO standing up.

Let me be clear..I am NOT by any means dissuading ANYONE from trying the A&A pocket diapers. I am merely saying that sometimes leaks may happen more often due to random msihaps than the disposable. But that doesnt mean they are not worth trying. so far for me overall they have worked well. I would strongly advise to pratice putting it on slowly several times, givng yourself ample time to apply it, so you can get the right feel for how it fits on your body. I would also take care to ensure the inserts are placed where you need them the most, and they are not sihited too far to one side or the other.

Peace out!

Rob

So what are you doing in the mean time? What will your insurance provide, I seem to remember that being an issue for you as well?

Pork chop,

Sorry for the late reply, ive been otherwise occupied. I have run out of Tena Ultra, so I am now using attends at home. It looks like I will either boost the attends when going out in public, or wear Abena or Seni..

As far as the pocket diapers, they are still doing well. I will probably order more next month. The question is how many.

Thanks for the answer! The super good VA diaper the pharmacist was bragging about turned out to be the Attends.... I'll wait why you stop laughing,.... Needless to say I said NEXT but now I well and truly feel your pain.
