Post subject: | Question about detergent use for cloth diapers in HE machine |
This question goes out to all of you guys/gals who use cloth and have HE machines. Do you find that you spend more money on detergernt than you otherwise would? I bought a box of tide powder for 17 bucks at Walmart, and I bought it specifically to use when i wash my cloth diapers because it was the best that the cloth diaper experts recommended. The box says theres enough degergent for 102 loads. Since I have to do both a prewash and a main wash with the HE washer, one using up to level 1 on the container, and a main wash, which uses 4, It seemed that i would have to divide that number of 102 loads in half. Or would I? What is that 102 number based on? Do any of you cloth uses with an HE machine use tide? How long does a box last you? Any advice would be appreciated! Peace out! Rob |

The 102 is probably based on the lowest line on the scoop. |

We have an HE machine. However, I use Tide HE liquid. I never measured the exact quantity used for diapers, because we launder everything else, towels, bedding, underwear, shirts, etc. in it also. I use a Clorox pre-wash on fecal and blood stains; otherwise, I simply follow the directions. |
