Nic,

I try to match my protection with my situation. At home and when I am sure of nearby and clean handicapped restrooms, I prefer to use washables. When I travel I typically use Molicare or Abena. Unlike many here, I use Depends occasionally. I like them in the summer because they're so cheap that I do not worry about getting them muddy while working in the garden, and this summer heat makes me perspire enough to keep my leakage within the limits that K/C sets for its products.

I am double incontinent due to a nerve injury. This is relatively recent, so I'm still learning to cope.

Personally I like the Tena Classic and the Attends Breathables when I'm home. I wear Tena protective underwear for men with a Tena pad in them when I go work. My incontinence is on the lighter side so I can get away with moderate duty protection. I don't ever flood, I always make the toilet but always leak after I finish going to the bathroom (15-25 times per day) so leaking a little bit each time I go ends up being a fair amount of leakage during the course of a typical day. These diapers are good diapers but are not considered to be "heavy duty" the Tena Classic is super discreet and super Breathable, it is a thin diaper and I can easily wear it under my uniform at work, though I don't usually wear regular diapers to work. Since I'm peeing so much, it's easier to manage a pullup in the workplace.

I am currently wearing breathable Molicare Premium Soft Super Plus at night (with a waterproof cover) or during the day when extra protection needed (long trips, meetings etc) and Attends Active M9 the rest of the time however I am considering changing the latter to one of the Molicare Soft Range for sweat relief going through samples. This combined with compression/stretch briefs and terry briefs for extra leak protection. This for me is my solution at the moment we are all different. I Hope this has helped you in some way.

Nic,

You are wearing very good protection right now.

I prefer ConfiDry Dry 24/7 as my primary diaper, Tena Slip Maxi for a more discreet diaper for wear with dress clothing, and Super Seni Quatro for when I want a breathable diaper. I wear these with a booster pad. When I wear a pull-up it is the Abena Abriform Premium Air.

Since you use the term "nappy," I presume you are in the UK?

Nic,

As you are in the UK, you should have not difficulty obtaining Abena and Tena products. They are readily available from several online providers in the UK for home delivery. :D

The Tena Slip Maxi is highly absorbent but thin and discrete - great for when you are wearing dress clothing or light athletic attire. The maximum total absorbency in size Large is 140 ounces (4 liters). It is an excellent choice for travel.

For night, what you already are wearing, the Comficare L10, with a maximum 5 liter absorbency is an excellent choice.

For long travel I always combine a premium diaper with a booster pad. I also always wear plastic pants (actually PUL pants).

Hi Nic

I too am in the UK so great to have you on board such a shame that we find ourselves here I have felt the same as you such a lot to come to terms with being incontinent. I order my diapers/nappies online as this saves the embarrassing moments in places like Boots. Changing showering etc can be so tiring however the alternative is so much more worse. I have taken a while to accept having a pad permanently between my legs and adapt to all this but I am in a happy dry (free from wet clothes) place now.

I have found the below resource invaluable in my quest.
