I can't believe it's been 7 months already since I first started to have to ware 24/7 due to my OAB occasional floods, now my accidents have gotten to the point where I end up peeing in my diaper more often then the toilet.

I would say I pee in my diaper 60% of the time and climbing I am peeing less volume but way more times per day. I can go pee in the toilet then 30 minutes or so Later I am peeing again I'm my diaper with out warning. I can't keep heading to the bathroom every 30 minutes and can't afford to replace a taped diaper more then 5 times aday and and I still leak when using pull-ups.

I really don't want to try meds so my only option for now is to continue to try to make it to the toilet when I can but I fear that shortly I will be using the diaper 99% of the time for wetting.

I have come to terms with being diapered and I am at peace if I end up primarily using my diaper 99% of the time, but I would prefer not to use them.

I just have to look on the bright side of being in diapers, traffic jams or closed bathrooms when you have to to go are no longer an issue :)

Rob, these things sometimes go in cycles. My uncontrolled urination has increased, but there are periods when I have better control. My urologist approved of my plan to use the toilet as much as is practical to practice sensing the urge to pee and using the muscles, but to just use the diaper at other times and not worry about it.

Without meds, you have fewer options. Are you retaining a lot of post-void urine?

Other options, only with a doctor's prescription, include self-intermittent catheterization and using a condom catheter. If you have read my recent posts, I newly am using both of these methods. I just started using the condom catheter three days ago.

Condom catheters usually are covered by Medicare and health insurance when diapers are not. You would not have to wear one all of the time, but it would save you a considerable expenditure for diapers.

Hi John

When the urologist did the tests 4 months ago I was not retaining after a flood, but that may have changed. A bathroom schedule might help the problem is with taped diapers once taped they really can't be reused it becomes a financial issue if I have to use to many juring the day.

I might try pull ups again now my flood volume is down that would allow me to try a schedule. As for catheters I think our insurance might cover them if I need them but haven't asked as I don't think I am retaining but that may have changed. They are expensive if not covered Shoppers Drugmart wants $175 for 30 speed catheters I checked the pricing last time I was picking up a waterproof absorbant mat.
