I am about to take my first airline flight after becoming incontinent. I am planning to wear a dry 24/7 and plastic pants so that I can go through security and get to my destination without changing my diapers. Does anyone have any suggestions for making it through security without having any embarrassing situations? is there anyone that has recently gone through security? Did you have any issues with TSA? |

I had no problems at Manchester in July and August or at Lanzarote and was wearing diaper with catheter and leg bag. I was in my wheelchair though so they probably expect that you might be catheterized and stuff. I suppose if you are able bodied they won't expect it but I am sure all will be ok. Have a good trip. 4wheeldave. |

I have had no problems with either domestic or international travel. And, in my backpack, in addition to my change of diapers, wipes, etc., I also carry my enema bag, which I use to control my bowel incontinence - a potentially much more embarrassing item. ![]() --John |

My policy is to wear a lighter disposable when I go through the TSA line, then switch to a heavyweight disposable, such as Molicare or Abena, for the flight. The TSA folks who have seen my incontinence supplies, including wipes, plastic bags and twist-ties for disposal, powder, zinc oxide ointment, and diapers, did not bat an eye. This makes me think that KC's advertisments claiming that 65,000,000 older children and adults in the USA are incontinent might just be accurate. The TSA agents I have met act as though they see the supplies of incontinents every day. No big deal for them. |

I travel 2-3 times per month for work, and TSA has never been an an issue for me. Before I passed my PreCheck, they looked in my carry on and kept on going. Now they don't even do that. Because of my artificial knee, I cannot do magnetic hoops, but must do the full scan. They may see a wet zone, (I'm not sure) but nothing ever comes of it. It is very sensitive, and if I forget the comb in my back pocket, it finds it... |

Like Patrick, I wear something light to get thru screening ... then change into a Dry 24/7 or Abena M4 to get be thru the trip. My carry on carries spares. And I always "opt-out" since I don't want the x-rays/radiation or magnets all over me. Thus, I endure the pat-down ... Thus far, I have not had a problem yet. Not even an embarrassing moment! |

![]() It is real easy.. I flew from Florida into Pa. Just a few months ago and nothing was said. I did not wear on the flight though because I am just a chronic bed wetter. I had a total of six layovers throughout the trip. One thing to note is as long as you stay in the secure area of the airport during layovers, you don't have to go back through security. |

If you have a connecting flight in Turkey you have to go through security again. This happened to several people I know, but they don't wear diapers so I don't know if they make problems there. |

I can only echo all of the above comments .. NEVER .. NEVER EVER .. have I had any issues with TSA and the process. No issues with items in my carry on bag. No issues with my wearing pads and plastic bloomers. No issues ever p-e-r-i-o-d ! Have a good trip and let us know how it went .. seldom do people give a report on their experiences .. |
