Well, over the past two days I have developed an ear infection. How does this affect my incontinence? You ask. Well, I am now taking a 10 day anti-biotic. And I am sure all of you know the effects of an anti-biotic on the digestive system. Yay!!!

My plan of attack is to stay protected for those uncontrollable instances that may/will occur and to fight the nasty effects of the anti-biotic with a very good 7 stain pro-biotic. That should help stave of some of the nasty effects and help avoid any rashes especially diaper rash since that is essentially a yeast infection.

Wish me luck!?

Wow! I just realized how dramatic the title of this post is compared to the rather mundane content. Sorry about that. I didn't mean to over dramatize it.

I will certainly wish you luck!

I'm one who "never" has a fecal problem, save for unusual times of digestive upset. I am recently over such an upset, that had me rushing to the toilet but also resulted in dirty diapers on one or more occasions and that serves as a reminder as to just how nasty that is to deal with.....and my sympathy goes out to those who must deal with fecal incon on a routine basis.

Staving off diaper rash is important and fecal matter is extremely caustic on the skin and a clean up is needed ASAP regardless of how inconvenient that may be.

You are wise to consider the pro-biotic to help counter the effect on your digestion; best of luck getting thru the 10 days!

Not a fun time ahead. Good luck and be ready for some nasty cleanup moments.

When I was in rehab in earlier this year a nurse told me to use a barrier creme on all parts that may be contacted by fecal matter to save me from having skin breakdown. Any good diaper rash prevention cream for babies is very helpful and is currently what I am using to make sure I don't have any skin sores that can get infected.

I hope the ear infection goes away quickly.
