As is the case with others who have commented, my situation is also similar to yours. My bladder-control problems stem from an unexpected surgical side effect when I was 14 years old. I bled excessively, ended up receiving over 40 blood transfusions before the bleeding stopped and then developed an infection that almost killed me. I recovered almost completely, but something about that episode caused me to become incontinent. After suffering through high school in cloth diapers, I managed to regain enough continence to be able to get by without daytime diaper by the time I went away to university. However, I continued to be a regular bedwetter. Things went on like that until I was in my forties, at which time my daytime continence gradually deteriorated to the point that avoiding accidents became more of an effort than it was worth. So I went back to wearing 24/7 about 25 years ago. Like you, wearing a diaper 24/7 enables me to do all the other things in life that are more important than worrying about whether I'll be able to make it to the nearest bathroom without wetting my pants when one of my intense urges to URINATE NOW occurs. For me too, wearing and using diapers are definitely more a part of the solution rather than a part of the problem.

Thanks for posting. very similar story here. I for a long time I been having trouble trying to make it and having leakage+. Recently had BPH prostate surgery and I had to use diapers. Pretty heavy duty initially. The urgency has been getting better. Since I broke the ice I find them comfortable and don't worry if I can't make it. A home or at work I can make almost always now, but if I get caught in traffic or I am out I may not make it as I still get a very sudden urge.. I been using mostly Abena's or Tena's stretch super and on some better days the depends fit flex.

What was said by the OP is what I intend to mention to my urologist sometime in the future if the latest medication he want's me on doesn't work - I'll give in on medication, and take the incontinence issues in my own hands and stop worrying about a leaking bladder, living my life in restrooms and going ballistic over a leakage - and just deal with my incontinence and move on, feeling lucky that incontinence is the only issue I have and not something much more worse and life threatening.

And I have my wife's blessing to do so. Battling with her over my incontinence issues and her lack of understanding have subsided, and now I have her full support...which in itself is a blessing and removes lots of worries...

Such a great uplifting posting by you all like Inconinmiss I have suffered since my teenage years in much the same way have been a slave to the loo etc. Over the last several years have moved over to diapers 24/7 such a relief it is so hard to explain no fear for finding a loo or having an accident. I feared others finding out what I was wearing my fears were unfounded know one cares. I have an active life now and I am so happy, I do get annoyed when I over fill and make a mess at but it is part of who I am and have excellent support here. I have settled on what works and adjusted my budget as a result. My only regret is that I wish I made the the 24/7 choice years ago.

It is so good to be among people who have reached the same 24/7 choice gives me great comfort.

Thank you for your post. I'm rather new to this incontinence thing, but I am glad you were able to find a solution. Although the solution seems like something most would dread, its great that you are able to find peace with it. I can relate to feeling tied to a bathroom at times, having to know where one is at all times, having to interrupt films, meetings, classes, and break my focus to use the restroom 10-15 times a day, in addition to dealing with dribbling and leakage from it. To not be tied to a restroom seems like a dream, and you achieved that! Congratulations.

I had to come to terms that diaper wearing was going to be constant in my life after a particularly bad accident. I was in a social setting and had to go to the bathroom. I thought I could hold it for a few minutes. Unfortunately, my bladder thought otherwise. By the time I made it to the rest room, I had a huge wet spot on the front of my pants. It was so embarrassing. I'll never forget the look on my friends face as I walked out with this huge wet spot on my pants. There was simply no hiding it. I literally just wanted to hide. After that, I decided that wearing a diaper was a necessity. It has totally changed my outlook and now I am not afraid to go out and have a good time. It has taken me a long time to get there, but I echo Greenbank...
