Uh oh. Last night just before bed I put on a medium Mega Max because i wanted to hydrate really well before bed, and I did not want leaks if I didn't quite make it to the bathroom, and this morning when my alarm woke me up, my bladder told me it was really full, and I was still waking up when it just let go, and I thought no problem, I'm wearing a MegaMax and im laying on my back. Nope, the mattress still got wet. Thankfully it was a trace amount because it felt damp, not soaked. There was not mattress protector on there because it wasnt back on the bed yet from a previous washing. I digress.

Could I be wearing the wrong size to bed? Was it not snug enough? Would I have been less prone to leak if I was pointed more in the center than on the side? Ugh... I just dont want this to happen again. Perhaps I should start wearing flannel prefolds to bed.

Peace out!

Rob

Some folks augment their disposable protection with a light weight washable diaper and a waterproof pant. I also use two bed pads. One between the sheet and the mattress, the other on top of the sheet, to catch any leakage. I use heavy weight washables at night, but they sometimes leak when a stray fold is outside the waterproof pant. So far, (knock on wood) the top bed pad has done its job.

I am in the first group that Patrick mentioned, wearing a cloth layer between my diaper and diaper cover.

During the day, over my diaper I wear a thin washable cotton pant and a diaper cover. At night I use a heavier toweling pant. These cloth layers catch any leaks from the diaper and absorb them, preventing the problem of having a pool of pee collecting in the diaper cover and then spilling out. Of course, if your diaper has not leaked, there is no reason to wash the cloth pant. Most nights I do no leak and only have a cloth pant I need to wash every four or five nights.

The hybrid combination has worked very well for me and I have used it successfully for years.
