I'm still processing what happened emotionally, but the good news is that no one noticed anything or at least no one said anything. I was wearing hte liberty to work today, and i figured id get some good wear time in. Now, on their site they say not to go back and forth between liberty and diapers, but i kinda had to in order to excersise wearing shorts. So, i figured that the wear time for the liberty would be reduced due to diaper wear and use.. but i thought it would at least last me a whole school day.. NOPE.. at a few minutes until 2:00.. I chedked my pants after feeling several voids into the bag to make sure nothing leaked.. and hten i ntoticed a spot.. then later a large patch on the back of my pants. As soon as I could, i went to the bathtroom to check the system to find the problem. The bag wasn't full, the tubes were still connected.. but the seal on the head of my penis was loose.. and my underwear was soaking wet.. thankfully my pants were only wet on the back. At this point it seems the mens libery is more of a cramp on my lifestyl;e because in oreder to get it to work, you have to put it on and wear it as long as yo ucan, eventually increasing wear time.. well what do you do if youre out in public when wear time is up? sorry, but my life is not going to revolve around my cateheter peeling off.. Thanks Men's Liberty, for giving me wet pants when i needed to stay dry.

Rob

Rob,

That is one of the issues with wearing external catheters. When a failure occurs it often is a catastrophic failure - you were fortunate to catch it early. With a leaking diaper we usually have only a wet spot on our trousers. When a catheter fails it often means a puddle on the floor.

Seconded. This is my kind of experience as well. It got to a point for me that I couldn't trust them to work for just one random day. I ended up wearing a diaper anyways for "just in case", but eventually realized that it was pointless using the external catheter at all.

Rob,

Your experience with externals replicates mine. I've had them fail, often at the most embarrassing times, and even when they were put on me by enterostomal nurses. I'll take diapers every time, thank you.
