Tangerine, I agree completely. As long as catheterizing makes sense and works well for any individual, then they absolutely should keep dong it. Heck, I used long term folley catheterization for over 15 years myself.

Like you said though, the risk of complication increase with time. And yes, that's not a guarantee but you can't ignore when it increases enough it might as well be. And also yes, the solution to those complications absolutely are more invasive so even putting that off for as long as anyone can also makes a lot of sense.

All I've been saying is don't be fooled into believing that catheters are a permanent solution. They clearly aren't- even if they are a good and logical mid term solution.
