Told my sister and it saaved my day

Sun Apr 10, 2016 2:42 am

On the last few weeks we had to help my mother intensively. As children were spent a lot of time together at the home of my parents. I don't know how the conversation started, but my sister and I discussed how body's react to stress. I told her that I became slightly incontinent especially unde stress and that I can't hold up once in a while. So I told her that I use pads in my underwear for protection. To my surprise and picked it up very neutral and she was happy I was dealing with it. I did not tell it to anybody else of the family at my parents home. The next morning when I came back she pointed me to her shoes put in a corner (hardly visible for anybody else), Very discrete, very protective towards me. I had lost my little bag with pads the night before. She found them and instead of checking to whom they belonged she knew (just in time) my story and put them to the side for me. I was so happy I told her! I was saved by the bell, or better.. Saved by my sister.

Glad it worked out for you. Always good to have someone you can count on.

Seems to be a consensus here that it is best to be up front and honest about incontinence and incontinence management with siblings and loved ones. I have told a few loved ones including all 3 of my sisters about this. They're all in the medical community so they understand. One is a DPT, one is a PA and an RD, and the fourth born is a L&D RN.
