Hey all,
Those of you who followed my posts know that Ive been on the fence about wearing traditional pin on cloth and plastic pants, for a variety of reasons. One being comfort, that the diaper would feel wet against my skin, and that pinning would be complicated, and would be difficult to implement. I am happy to report that after trying my newly acquired leakmaster gauze daytime prefold from adult cloth diaper in conjunction with my twill prefold from baby pants, I effectively went all night in a wet diaper and still dint feel uncomfortable, and when I woke up it effectively contained the ususally present morning deluge, which was the whole point of putting it on. When i pinned the diapers on last night, I hadn't planned on getting them wet until this morning, but with incontinence, you never know exactly when its going to act up.. I ended up wetting once before bed. I figured, what the heck, sleeep in it it, people do all the time. So I did, and i got up this morning, had the morning flood in the diaper, and took it off, and checked my skin. No redness or skin abrasion is apparent. the only residual effect is odor in the groin area which is easily remedied by cleansing. So, it turns out that cloth might not be so bad after all. I guess it depends on the fabric you use. I have had the gauze next to my skin, and i think it makes a difference in terms of wetness felt against the skin.
Peace out!
Rob

Rob,
I was glad to read of your successful experience with cloth diapers. I hope that success will continue. Such success will be a deserved reward for all the trials you have had.

Yeah, good to hear. Just make sure you keep up with laundering them, and also research how to avoid ammonia build up. That will give you a burn rash really quick and if it happens you will need to boil them.
