Does cold weather affect diapers?

Mon Oct 19, 2015 10:14 pm

Hey all,

I know from expereince that cold weather causes wipes to freeze, hence I don't plan on storing my wipes in my parent's storage room which is adjacent to my upstairs apartment.. but does the same thing happen to diapers themselves? I know that diapers tend to lose their stickiness in heat, but what about sub zero tempatures? Does it have any noticable effect on a diaper's performance?

By the way, it's roulghy one week from now give or take a few days that i will be able to try the pocket diaper.. I will let you all know how it feels and works. I'm hoping that it does work well, beccause im tired of the tabs ripping of tena and attends... not to mention the extra garbage generated each week..

Peace out!

Rob

Not sure about how it affects diapers, but I know that my bladder capacity drops with the temperature. I can't imagine that it would affect them Rob. By the time we put them one, they have warmed up far above freezing.

Sociologygeek,

Excellent question! :D I do not know the answer but will try to do some research on the topic.

The super-dry air both indoors and outdoors in cold weather reduces my leakage, because I perspire more. However, shoveling snow in cold, wet diapers is not my idea of fun.

I can't wait to read JDs research! I know the cold weather effects me, I even notice it in the freezer section of my local grocers.  8)
