Supository / Laxative Questions

Thu Mar 18, 2021 6:48 am

My goal is to eliminate the need for a bowel movement on the day of an outdoor event, particularly when wearing a tabbed brief or just to avoid the toilet facilities. The only real experience I have had is a nurse inserted suppository at the hospital a couple of times.

  • 1. What practical and safe options are there?
  • 2. How is it taken?
  • 3. Prescription or over-the-counter?
  • 4. How long before the job is done?
  • 5. Is there a safe frequency limit? Can it be used on most weekends for example?
  • 6. Is it safe to use with a maximum daily dose of metformin?

With the metformin I take, I'll have days with diarrhea, others with nothing at all or sometimes regular stools. I've been using metformin a long time.

In my limited experience, enemas that clean the bowel as much as possible are the most reliable method of dealing with the threat of an accident for several hours. However, afterwards, I still leak water, which, however odorless, nevertheless does make reliable, high-quality protection necessary. God luck.

Thanks for your reply Patrick. I think enemas are beyond what I would consider at this point.
