Poiesis Duette Dual-Balloon 2-Way Foley Catheter

Sun Aug 27, 2017 4:12 am

These have got to be the greatest things since sliced bread and the napkin!

I got my first ones yesterday and was eager to try it out. I took out my 20fr 5cc, put in a Duette, 18fr 10cc/5cc and could immediately feel the difference. No more poking the top of my bladder, an a 90% reduction in bladder spasms.

I'll tell you, for a long time Foley catheter user you've got to try these if you get the chance. I'll only go back every so often because of the expense. I'm going to wear one a bit longer than the regular catheters to stretch out the cost. $12.70 at Allegro Medical. https://www.allegromedical.com/catheters-c539/poiesis-duette-dual-balloon-2-way-foley-catheter-p566340.html

I've tried them a couple times. I thought they were ok, though I have just as much success with my Bard Lubri-Sil 100% silicone foleys. I very rarely have bladder spasms when it's in, but have a lot of bladder discomfort when it's out.

Well it's been a week and I feel great. There are times where I forget that it's even in and have to go empty my belly bag if I should jut happen to reach down to feel for the full content. There's been almost no pinching at the tip of my penis like I had with latex Foleys. When I'm in motion to stand or sit, there is no irritating poking around in my bladder. With fewer bladder spasms I don't leak out the sides as much as I did before. I can't say enough good things about them. I'm hooked. :D

Have you tried Bard's 100% silicone Lubri-Sil infection control (I.C.) Foley catheter? I've had great luck with them for the last three years.

I haven't tried them but I'm glad they work for you. This duel balloon thing with the Duettes is really a fantastic design. Very very comfy.

Well after a few months of using this type of catheter I've gone back to the standard latex. I found that the silicone catheters detach to easily from connections to leg, bed side, and belly bags. Glad I'm not allergic to the latex ones.

I had them, used them for 4 years. I had sores at the neck of my bladder, and always had a UTI. My Urologist installed a Medtronic simulator. That worked real good until I had an accident and tore one lead off. Then it was downhill from there. I had the thing removed. I needed an MRI and couldn't. I paid the price for that. Had to have dye injected in my back to check for a blockage. I got a headache from that. It was severe. It took a blood patch to stop it.
Now my bladder walls have thickened. I go maybe 5 times in 2 hours. At work I can run to the BR. I use cotton diapers at night. when I can't manage my incontinence when I'm asleep,
