Hi, this is my first post for a long time. I live in the UK and get most of my pads and diapers through the N.H.S.
For the last three years or more I have been using Lille Healthcare products . During the day I use Lil form shaped pads with a booster pad to give extra absorbency. These are held in place by net briefs. Overnight I use Lil fit supreme all in ones diapers, again with a booster. Because I am a heavy wetter I wear a pair of plastic pants over both the day and night pads. I normally go for the Suprima pants, they cost me more but I find them to be excellent quality.
So with this level of protection I can get through my day without fear of wet clothes, and get a good nights rest without a wet bed, which I find is always nice !!
Unfortunately the N.H.S will not pay for the plastic pants. Plastic pants are not encouraged by my medical practice so that outlay is down to me.
The N.H.S often gets a bad press here in the U.K but without them supplying my pads I would be facing a big monthly bill. I hope my post wasn't too long or boring . Thanks

Hello blueman , welcome to the forum. It is always interesting to see what products are available over seas, as they differ quite a bit from here in N. America. Our medical system does not cover any disposables in Canada, but extended benefits do pay for sheath systems, external catheters and collection bags for myself, which does help with the costs. A good cover pant is worth it's weight in GOLD! Puffy

Hi there. Thanks for the reply ! It's interesting to hear how others have their long term medical needs funded.
Even though my pads etc are supplied " free " I still pay approx £30 (approx 50 Dollars ? ) every week from my salary towards the N.H.S .
Ps sorry to appear thick, but in your post you mentioned something about a "good cover pant" What exactly is a cover pant ? Thanks alot.

Any pair of waterproof plastic or vinyl pants, that you wear overtop of whatever product you use for your problems, in the earlier years they were known as rubber pants, sililar to these http://www.babykins.com/store/adult-pla ... um-weight/ You probably have another name for them! Puffy

OK, kind of figured you would know what they were... :) Also a fan of music of all sorts, I don't know where I got it, but snagged the Demo's of the making of the Wall, very interesting to see what they sounded like before final release! Puffy

Here in the US some insurance companies do cover disposable diapers and plastic pants. Mine were fully covered when I worked for the State of WA. I had to fight to get them approved and then every claim we sent in was denied the first time through. My wife sent copies of the authorization letter in with each claim and they still denied it most times. But it can be done.
