Has anyone tried the Attends extended wear diaper. I wore my first one last night. not bad :) I didn't have any leaks. the padding both front and back covers a large area including the sides. it's not an abena but one thing I think it has over that is I feel dryer in this then the abena. It's going on 10:30 am and I'm still wearing it. it's starting to leak now :? but hey I put this on at about 11:30 last night. Another good thing is the smell isn't anywhere near what I'm use to from an overnight diaper. My husband commented on that as well when we were laying in bed this morning. I told him about these last night that I was trying them out. His first words were "I like the easy access tapes  " I'd give this a Thumbs up diaper biggest down side is the price. and it is clothed backed.

Sandy,
About 3 months ago, I was was trying to find a new disposable to replace my Tranquility i was using. I tried several disposables from XP Medical and the Attends Exteneded wear was one. It performed very well, but the cost was just too high for me. I finnaly ended up going with the Molicare "Super" that XP Medical has. The cost was about 50 cents less per diaper, and it worked very well for me. I like it because it has the breathable sides with the elastic type tapes. Extremely quiet for a plastic backed diaper and it held much more than my Tranquility I used.
Molicare has a "super plus" that I wear at night when traveling when cloth diapers won't work. A bit bulky, but for night use, it holds all my wetting through the entire night. Molicare diapers are the ones in that beautiful Lavendar color! .............Paul Martin

Paul,

You remind me of my own use of Molicares and Attends. I used Attends for a number of years including the extended wear. I had the first opportunity to try Molicare last Fall, and they are my main choice for day to day wear. They are really discreet, breathe nicely and hold enough that I can get through most of the workday without a change.

The Attends extended wear are great too, and I do still occasionally use them but only for overnight as I find them too bulky for daywear, unless I'm around the house. Same goes for the Molicare super plus.

While I have the insurance coverage in most cases, I do put out some of my own costs, especially for anything re-usable. Personally, I don't mind paying the premium for a product that excels above the rest, and if I recall I think the Attends extended wear in Canada are cheaper than the Molicare.

The other thing I like about Attends is the cloth outer cover, however like you said the Molicare is really quiet too.

I would rate the extended wear Attends right up there with the best, but of course that is only my opinion and what I like in a diaper is not necessarily the same for all.

Harperlee, you actually found these in Canada? Amazing, as I have never seen them in B.C., only the 'regular' Attends, which I tried a long time ago, but found they failed miserably for me. I would try the Extended wear if they were here and see how they compare to the Tena Supers. Same as the Depend's Overnight, never seen those here either... strange... :? Puffy

Howdy :)
First off the Depends overnight Totally worthless :!: I swear they are the same diaper as the normal Depends just in a different package.

Regular Attends aren't bad if you add a big booster. My preferred booster for these are the Tranquility full contour booster or I also like to use full length shields as boosters just poke a bunch of holes in the plastic backing of the shields. Shields work good as boosters. You can often find the full length cheap on eBay. When I say full length I mean like around 22-28 inches long and best of all in an hour glass shape. I bought a whole bunch of the sometime back off Ebay. They came in unmarked sealed bags I wish I knew who they were made by the really work great :D

Anyway hey Paul glad to here the Molicares are working for you. You and I talked about those sometime back. As you know I also wear lots of those at night myself and I guess during the day from time to time. I tend to favor the Super plus at night. Heck  I have a Super Plus on right now  I also wear allot of the X plus Abena's as well at night.

I got the Attends extended wear from Drugstore.com They were only $38.99 a case for 36 medium or 28 large

I tried this diaper a couple years ago. I wore it primarily while I was working at a grocery store where I could only take breaks every 4 hrs or so. I really couldn't stop what I was doing to change. So they had to last. This was before I found the abena. This diaper did ok for what I needed it to do. It did leak at night for my bedwetting. I would have little wet spots on the sheets. The main problem that I had was chafing. I got a terrible rash on the inside of my legs because of the cloth like backing. It rubbed me raw. What started out as chafing turned into a bad yeast infection on my legs. It was awful. I went to the doctor and they gave me two prescription creams. It cleared it right up. But it was nasty. Not an experience I would like to repeat. I have since been using the plastic backed Abena's and it hasn't happened again. The plastic glides smooth across my skin. They work out well and I have had no more diaper rashes.

They work great as long as I don't sleep on my side. I put one on last night and then used it twice after waking up and I am shocked how well it held up.I am very pleased.

I've tried most of the diapers on the market including Attends Extended Wear, and Molicare. Sandy, you may like the Extended Wear from Attends for a number of reason including the color. They look kinda pink to me, but they do work very well. I think the Molicare Super Plus works GREAT, (better than the Extended Wear), but that's my opinion. As far as cost goes,.......I think you can find some good prices on the Molicare, more so than the Extended Wear. Plus,......eBay sells more of the Molicare products so maybe you can find a GREAT deal if you keep looking on eBay. Craigslist is another good place to look. I've seen some good deals on Craigslist before only because the diapers being sold are part of an estate sale and the person handling the estate just wants to sell unwanted items.

I've not bought any diapers in a while since all of my disposables are provided by the VA free of charge along with my other meds. When I was buying diapers, I was always trying to find quality diapers at a bargain price along with many others. Craigslist was always a good place to look but most of the time the diapers being sold on Craigslist was lower quality diapers so if you see some high quality diapers at a reasonable price don't delay before making contact with the sellers. Another good place to look is the Good Will website. I purchased from there too,..but just like Craigslist anything you find on that website is limited to what you see. I'm sure those diapers being sold by the Good Will were donated from an estate.

The only other thing that I can think of is the Extended Wear diapers have a cloth like outer shell to the diapers, and the Molicare Super Plus does not. I'm sure the Extended Wear diapers from Attends are more popular with women for no other reason than color.....pink is NOT one of my everyday colors. However, I used to wear a salmon color shirt from time to time, but that's been a few years ago when salmon color dress shirts were very popular. I never wore pink underwear, so I guess that's one reason why I didn't like wearing the pink Attends Extended Wear diaper. I'm sure Tranquility would refer to the color as being "peach". Pink, peach, or salmon is like putting lipstick on a pig,.....it's still a pig wearing pink lipstick.

If I recall correctly, I think I sent Attends an email from their website suggesting they change the color of the Extended Wear diaper to white. Based on all the stats I've read, more women are incon compared to men. I would be surprised if Attends changed the color of their pink diaper to white.

I know I got carried away talking about several different things,..... but above all, I hope I answered your question.

I still have a salmon colored shirt and have worn pink undershirts! (wife forgot to separate her new red blouse from my white undershirts!!)
