I use a cloth underpad and top it with a disposable underpad. I use a cloth underpad made by Inspire, it is 30" x 34", it really is a very good product to add for that extra protection. I started using disposable underpads on top after ruining 5 cloth underpads in a weeks period. I bought the Inspire underpads at Walmart and at Meijer, they are with the incontinence products. A good product for $10. The disposable underpads are a blessing and I just use Walmart's brand, they do a very good job.

Hi Becky, I don't think there are too many on here that do not have some sort of padding on the bed to save mattresses and loads of laundry. I use a waterproof mattress cover, and on top of the sheets I have a BIG cloth underpad that is around 3 feet wide and 2 feet deep, along with a smaller one around 2 ft by 1 1/2 ft on top that would catch any leaks if they occur, rare with adequate protection. I tend to flop around like a fish out of water at night! I really want to save my mattress from needing replacing, so I overdo it for sure. Better safe then sorry I guess, but I sleep worry free.

You're right Puffy, i have two machine washable pads on my bed, i wouldnt want to take a chance with the bed, especially as i have had the occassion 'diaper malfuction' where the back of it has split open and the stuffing leaked out! They were expensive enough, both 45 euro's, but considering i paid 700 euro for the mattress its well worth it!

I tried these and found that they bunched up to much underneath me when I move around in my sleep. If I had leaked, they wouldn't do much good. I only use them when I stay over at other peoples houses. But I rarely do that and I rarely leak. I wear abena Xplus and leakage isn't really a problem. For my own bed, I bought a queen size matress pad from overstock.com. It works pretty well. I haven't leaked on it yet. Don't plan to. But it covers my whole mattress if I do. My queen mattress was like $600 and I don't want to ruin it.

Yes, better to protect the mattress from the occasional leak, then to have to go out and purchase a new one. I got mine to replace the waterbed I could no longer sleep on after my car accident, and it is not a cheap one by a mile, still has the $2600 tag on the corner, orthapedic and special support and all... sure is comfortable though! I wonder if it is stuffed with gold shavings or something! Puffy
