Kidney Cysts ???????

Sat Jan 10, 2009 7:56 am

I recently had a CT scan done on my abdomen and pelvis with the results showing a benign cyst in each kidney. The cyst in the left kidney measures 13 mm, and the cyst in the right kidney measures 12 mm. My doc is telling me these type of cysts are very common for those of us over the age of 50, and are harmless most of the time requiring no special attention. Anyone else have the same? If so, have you experienced any problems or issues as a result of this type of cysts?

I also have one cyst in each of my kidneys. My doctor tells me it's nothing to worry about. So I have received the same advice that you received.

I guess the good news is most the time these cysts are harmless. If I can figure a way, I'll send you the two I have and then you can have 4 of them. I like to share whenever possible.

My father had a Kidney removed last year because of a very rare form of cancer. When they found it, they also found 3 cyst in his other Kidney. We talked to the doctor about it and and he said the cyst were nothing to worry about and they wouldn't cause any problems. Since then dad has been doing real good and he can't even tell he is missing a kidney except for the small scars.
