I were using lithium for my bipolar disorder but were retired, what cause lithium since you must duplicate or triplicate the water or fluids intake for avoid get kidneys damage, is make your incontinence worse or frequency to go to bathroom more frequently since lithium works on kidneys and must work harder the kidneys as well as thyroid , also any psychiatrist medication could cause incontinence also from the leadflet that I read carefully in the past I got afraid of any change of medication now just is like oh well nothing can do.

I know it's a old post but I hope this answer might help.

My personal experience with lithium wasn't like the best one in all sense , that might cause incontinence at long term never heard about it but I read on the leadflet of many psychiatric medications the word MIGHT cause it's there is a possibility and it's not only to lithium carbonate.

My post DON'T ENCOURAGE AT ALL TO ABANDON ANY MEDICAL TREATMENT AT ALL AND IF HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ASK TO YOUR DOCTOR .
