One year incontinence anniversary

Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:13 pm

Yesterday was my one year anniversary on this forum (IC a bit longer). How has incontinence changed my life? It has made me leaky.

While I rarely have accidents during the day, I continue to wear pull-ups for accident prevention every day. Sometimes I get to thinking this is overkill, yet accidents still happen, like last night. My son's car broke down and I had to drive out to help him get his car towed home (in snow and sub zero temperatures). I had a coffee to pass the time while waiting for the tow and to keep warm but knew that this would likely mean trouble. I made it all the way home and thought that maybe I got away with it. But no, while waiting for the car to be unloaded onto the driveway, I leaked. It was no big deal because I was prepared for it (like a pro )

Even a year later, this seems so foreign to me. I'm still cringing at the thought of telling my income tax lady that I have a diapers deduction this year. That deduction is too good to pass up, so I guess I'll grin and bear it.
